FISHING   


Fly-in only, at distance ranging from 75 to 300 air milesdistance from our Sea Plane Base located in Baie-Comeau, Québec. Since there is no road access, the variety of species and the quality of the catches are exceptional. Most of our sites have trail to others lakes or ponds, with boat or canoes are available.


SPECIES OF FISH:

Speckled trout (Brook trout)
Can be found in most of our lakes, with weights varying from 1 to 5 lb, (1 1/2 lb average).


IN OUR LAKES ABOVE THE 52ND LATITUDE TO THE CANIAPISCAU RIVER, IN ADDITION TO THE SPECKLED TROUT, YOU CAN EXPECT TO CATCH:


Lake trout (Togue)
Monster, up to 28 pounds, average catch of 12lb.

Northern pike
Our fresh water Shark, up to 20 pounds, average of about 9 lb.

Land-lock salmon (Ouananiche)
This fierce fighter, with his acrobatic jump, will exceed 10 pounds on occasion. Average ranging between 5 to 6 lb.


FISHING SEASON
For our south camp below the 52nd Latitude, from the end of May to the beginning of September. For the lakes above the 52nd Lattitude and Lake Clair, from June 10th until the end of the first week of September.


AN INCREDIBLE POTENTIAL THAT WE MUST PROTECT
Labrador Air Safari's location have been carefuly selected, after a meticulous exploration of this vast territory. We have built our camps on the lakes offering the best quality of fishing and hunting. Where the only access is by Float Plane. In order to maintain this exceptional quality of fishing and hunting we require , from our clients, that they not exceed the legal limit authorized for each species.


SPECIES AVAILABLE PER LAKE and QUOTAS PERMIT PER SPECIES, PER PERSON, PER SOJOURN
All species mentioned may be fished or eated at will on condition that any catch in excess of the permitted possession quota, according to the period of your stay, be immediately released taking the necessary precautions to safeguard the existence of the species. For those who absolutely want to bring fish home, here is the permitted possession quota per species and per period of your stay.



* 15 trouts or 11 pounds plus one trout, whichever limit is reached first.

To maintain the exceptional fishing quality that made our reputation, we recommend that you practice catch and release only.
